Clockwise Launches AI-Powered Prism Interface for Calendar Tool
Clockwise, a smart scheduling and calendar tool, is introducing a new AI-powered assistant called Prism. This feature helps manage scheduling conflicts, bulk-create or clear events, and convert to-do lists into calendar blocks using text prompts.
Like other tools such as YC-backed Vimcal and Dropbox-acquired Reclaim, Clockwise focuses on optimizing team schedules but can also be used individually.
Prism transforms typed instructions into calendar events. For example, typing “Create a link to schedule a meeting with Severian next week” generates a scheduling link or availability text block. If there’s a timing conflict, Prism will suggest alternative slots.
Prism also allows users to share a meeting link that surfaces potential scheduling conflicts for participants to respond to. For urgent meetings, Prism scans team members’ schedules, finds the best time, and automatically reschedules conflicting events.
Additionally, you can schedule tasks from a to-do list into your calendar, easily move them around during meetings, and quickly set up similar meetings with multiple people using prompts like, “Schedule 15-minute one-on-ones with Frank, Robin, Nami, and Tony.”

Matt Martin, CEO of Clockwise, told TechCrunch that the company is using a custom scheduling engine that interfaces with natural language queries and figures out the conflicts and optimal timings.
“I’ve seen a lot of startups try to naively connect LLMs directly to Google Calendar APIs. It’s no wonder those tools fall flat on their face when you press beyond anything but the simplest use cases. We’ve spent seven years building the most advanced scheduling engine in the world, and it’s that layer that enables Prism to quickly and reliably make decisions to find the best slots for tasks and meetings,” Martin said.
Clockwise is offering Prism for free to all customers, and working on deeper integration with Google Calendar and better support for weekly schedules.
